Domino’s initial name was Dominick’s. Tom and James Monaghan purchased a pizza restaurant way back in 1960 whose name was Dominick’s. In 1965, one of their delivery drivers invented the name “Domino’s”. Domino’s served only two sizes of pizza, 11 toppings, and Cola for 30 years. They used to serve pizza on a delivery basis only.
The three dots in their logo define the three Domino’s locations they had in 1965. They originally planned to place a new dot with the opening of the new store. In 2018, they also started repairing potholes to make their delivery smooth and fast. They also tried delivery of pizza through drone in 2016 being a partner with startup Flirtey.

Domino’s sells over one million pizzas every day in the United States. They cover over 10 million miles per week to deliver their pizza which is the same distance as 14 trips to the moon and back.
